Today I made the adult choice to make dinner instead of ordering takeout! Even though I was sleepy from my nap. That I shouldn't have taken. Anywho.
I love trying new recipes. I used a new cook book that I got for Christmas.
I like cooking.
I like not having to clean everything up right away, because I don't care, and I live alone, so no one else cares either!

I made this for lunch today. It was pretty good. I also made a menu for the week. I like to try new things, and I like the feeling I get when I manage to make food out of things I already have, or have bought from the grocery store. Every meal I eat at home, when I'm home, is a little victory. Also, usually pretty tasty. Happily, I have what it takes to make at least a dozen more of these.
New Year, new start. Back to the blog. Since I've been told by the one person who checks (Hey Jim!) that he still checks. :)
New Year's Eve was wonderful, one of my new friends came over, we tried a new kind of drink, we bought party hats and party blowers, we watched Dick Clark's Rockin' New Years, we played board games (The Game of Life, after midnight, seemed pretty appropriate.) It was low key. It was fun. It was a good start to a New Year.
So, I was a part of history. My school has never, in its past, had only a morning session, and not had the afternoon session. Until today. Whoo! History! I also bought this appropriately titled book from the book cart today to commemorate this. I also have an awesome friend who hung out for 2 extra minutes to take this picture, even though it was crazy snowing...since it was the start of the blizzard. Guys, it's snowing horizontally. Havin' a friend who's down is awesome...
I got letters! That included an update on Becca, and stickers and other stuff for Valentine's Day from my aunt! Hooray!
Who loves having a washer and dryer in her apartment so she can do all of her laundry without having to put on real clothes to wash EVERYTHING I OWN? This guy.
Because I'm awesome, I left my camera at home for the only time I stepped outside of my apartment today. Julie and I went to see The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader. In 3D. It was pretty awesome. C.S. Lewis is my literary boyfriend, so it was a story I love, and it was less disappointing than The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, so win, all around. Especially because I got to go with Julie, who's pretty awesome.
Coming down with a cold. Love my bed.
I work at a place where for the sake of a joke, someone will make you and eye patch. I rocked that look. Just sayin'.
While on the way to a seminar, Julie and I stopped at McDonald's, and I saw this magazine rack...I get the local paper, McDonald's, but do you really need 5 issues of Cat Fancy to offer to your customers who need something to read?
